This Tuesday, September 15th, the Men's Prayer Breakfast will be hosting its annual "Holy Smokes" steak roast. All men are invited even if you've never (yet) come to the prayer breakfast before. Come and meet with friends for a delicious steak, a good cigar (optional) and great conversation. Event starts at 6:30 PM at the Monroe K of C hall patio. Price is $40. RSVP to Jeff Whalen at 313-268-0979.
This Thursday, September 17th, the K of C lounge will be hosting a delicious lunch from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm. This week the lounge will be serving Italian Lasagna with salad, bread and dessert. Price is only $9
Come join us and bring your family or a friend!
The next lounge luncheon will be on September 24th serving BLTs.
Don't forget to purchase your tickets for the upcoming Comedy Night. I encourage all my brother nights to come to this great event!

Today, Labor Day, is the unofficial end of summer. Football season is here, kids are back in school, and the weather soon will be getting cooler. The first Labor Day celebration was on September 5, 1882 - coincidentally, the same year Fr. Michael McGivney formed his new men's group which he called the Knights of Columbus. Labor Day was made a national holiday by President Grover Cleveland in 1894 and has been on the first Monday of September ever since.
I would like to wish everyone an enjoyable and safe holiday today! Be sure to give praise to God for the opportunities in this great country to work, earn a living, and to provide for our families.
A note on this Wednesday's General Business meeting - there will NOT be an exemplification so the rosary will start at 6:30 pm and the meeting will start at 7 pm.

It is with great sadness that I report the deaths of 2 of our brother Knights.
Robert Gerhardt, Past Grand Knight of Council #1266 and member of the Color Corp for Assembly #488, left this world to be with our Lord on August 17, 2026, at the age of 76. Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Church on Wednesday, September 2 starting at 9:30 AM followed by mass at 10:30 AM. Assembly #488 Color Corp will be present for the funeral in his honor.
James Wiseman, Sr, member of Council #1266 and Assembly #488 Color Corp also went to be with our Lord on August 23, 2026, at the age of 84. Visitation will be at Bacarella Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 2 from noon until 3:30 PM. The Knights of Columbus will recite a litany / rosary at 1:30 followed by the Assembly Chalice presentation. Assembly #488 Color Corp will be present in his honor. Deacon Mike Stewart will then lead a memorial service at 3:30 PM.

The lounge staff would like to invite all of you to enjoy a delicious lunch in the lounge this Thursday, tomorrow, August 27, from 11:30 am till 1 pm. This week lunch includes, my favorite, smashburgers, fries, slaw and dessert for just $9. Come one - come all!
